Complaining of harassment by Goa police, tourists from Bangalore and other places in Karnataka who had arrived at Dudhsagar on Sunday morning protested against the ban imposed by Goa government.
The tourists were stopped at Dudhsagar railway and blocked from advancing to the waterfalls due to the ban imposed by the Goa government and the South Western Railway authorities.
A large number of tourists mostly comprising of youngsters are rushing to the Goa border for a picnics at the gushing waterfalls.
The tourists who visited the Dudhsagar waterfall complained that they were told to do the sit-ups as they blocked the railway track by sitting on the tracks. The police had to resort to a mild lathi charge to clear the crowd at the site.
Meanwhile, the Kankumbi police stopped scores of tourists who were on the way to Goa via Chorla road.
The tourists comprised of young boys and girls who were traveling on bikes towards the waterfalls. Khanapur police have also banned the entry of tourists from all the waterfalls in the region.
