Verna police on Thursday arrested a 28 year old labourer forthe murder of a 20 year old girl from Cansaulim on Nov 23. He had committed themurder in an isolated place at Molar in Cansaulim-Cuelim.
The accused, Ashish Amal Adhikary (28), a native of WestBengal but presently residing at Cansaulim along with his family had an illicitrelation with the deceased Vijaylaxmi Chawan from Cansaulim.
Verna police revealed the accused had taken the deceased toan isolated spot for sexual intercourse.
“ Over some matter involving finance a brawl broke outbetween the two leading to the murder ” said Verna police.
According to the Verna police, the woman was strangulated todeath with her dupatta and her partially nude body was left in the bushes onNov 22, evening.
However, the police immediately managed to trace theidentity of the deceased that help the police to get the initial lead incracking the case.
The accused has been arrested under section 302 of IPC andPI Rajesh Kumar is further investigating the case.
