It is official. Roy Naik, the controversial son of formerHome Minister Ravi Naik has been questioned by Central Bureau of Investigationsleuths over two days in the police-politician-drug dealer nexus Nexus. Roy’sinterrogation comes in the wake of increasing pressure on the agency to bringthe influential son of the former minister in the ambit of its investigations.
CBI sources reveal that Roy was questioned extensively byInvestigating Officer Joy Damle on Wednesday and Thursday during GaneshChaturthi celebrations in the State as the CBI wanted to go about theinvestigations discreetly. Sources have also revealed that CBI has intensifiedthe pace of the investigations in the past one week in the wake of allegationsthat it was going slow.
On Thursday morning, CBI summoned four Roys. Roy Naik, RoyD’Souza associated with the Curlies shack in Anjuna, Roy Fernandes, formerSecretary to politician Fatima D’Sa, and a fourth Roy. The agency has takenserious cognisance of Lucky Farmhouse’s allegation that Roy, son of aninfluential minister in the state government used to visit Atala. The CBI hadrecorded the statement of Lucky Farmhouse in Swedish, which it has not yet beenable to translate.
“All of us have been privately told by CBI to deposit a copyof our photographs. The same is being sent to Lucky in Sweden to ascertain ifshe can recognise Roy Naik”, informed one of the Roys. Though has however notbeen officially confirmed either by CBI sources or Roy Naik himself.
With CBI increasingly tightening its grip on the case, RoyNaik will have a lot of questions to answer on why his name is so synonymouswith the politician-police drug nexus case.
