Promises made

On March 9, when Manohar Parrikar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Goa, he made speech where he outlined the main priorities of his new government. The Goan reproduces a few salient points

The first priority:

My government will have zero tolerance to corruption. Wewill not allow corruption in any form in any government department. Any suchcase will be dealt with severely.

The second priority:

People of the younger generation are leaving Goa in thesearch for jobs. I can assure them that they will not have to leave Goa to searchfor jobs. They won’t have to pay money to get jobs. Even people who have goneout will get jobs over here.

The third priority:

Petrol prices will be brought down and pension to seniorcitizens will be hiked..

The fourth priority:

Goa will have twenty four hours uninterrupted power supply

Did we as the people of Goa get it wrong when the ManoharParrikar promised a Lokayukta within 100 days in office? Since the deadline islong gone-June 17, did the Chief Minister actually give us a different startdate?Here’s a quick back check.
