The Shiv Sena chief of Kolhapur district, Sanjay Pawar haschallenged the Chief Minister of Maharastra, Prithviraj Chavan to come out witha white paper on the alleged irrigation scam involving his deputy.
“For the last 10 years irrigation work amounting to Rs 75crores are pending due to the alleged role of politicians in the scam,” Pawarsaid and alleged that officials and politicians were hand in gloves in thealleged scam.
He said that he has all information under the RTI act whichclearly indicates the role of officers in the alleged scam.
The Kolhapur district Shiv Sena unit organized a protestrally on October 3 demanding a white paper on the alleged irrigation worth Rs35,000 crore.
Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister, government of Maharashtrahas already tendered his resignation after his name figured in the allegedirrigation scam.
After Pawar’s resignation there was political uncertainty inMaharashtra last week.
In the last 10 years irrigation department has undertaken 53projects costing around 378.95 lakhs but work to the tune of Rs 75 crore isstill pending.
According to Shiv Sena member, Vijay Devne “Dudhganga” isthe main irrigation project in Kolhpaur. Even after a repair work was donecosting Rs 8.75 crore, authorities have failed to plug the leakage in the dam,Devne disclosed.
