The construction of a new Arpora“Nagoa Panchayat Ghar has been a long-pending demand of the local community. Its exact completion status or timeline has not been clearly announced in recent updates, but the project is understood to fall under Michael Lobo’s new mandate to fast-track ongoing works. All villages in the Calangute constituency have their own Panchayat Ghars, except Arpora“Nagoa.
There is hope that the project will now move forward, as Michael Lobo has recently taken charge as Chairman of the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC). He officially assumed the role in early November 2025 and has stated that his main focus will be completing pending projects and improving rural infrastructure across Goa. Residents of Arpora say they are confident that the Panchayat Ghar will be completed at its current location, similar to the example of Parra village.
The Arpora“Nagoa“Parra area has faced delays in construction and development plans in the past, including legal stays on certain Outline Development Plans. The Panchayat Ghar was earlier proposed in the Communidade field, but progress had stalled. Lobo’s new position is seen as a positive step for resolving such issues and improving infrastructure in the constituency.
