Life without ethics is useless and meaningless as it has an important role, especially in politics, which many a time the loyalty of the electorate gets demoralized.
Looking back in 2017, many hearts were broken, when Congress that needed just four MLAs to form a government was betrayed by GFP after being lured with ministerial posts by the BJP. Congress then said "we have learnt a bitter "fotting" lesson and will remember not to form alliance with GFP in future.
But at present, the past seems to have been buried and the alliance has been announced by both the parties saying its time to ‘re-liberate Goa’.
One now wonders if there is any credibility left in Fatorda for Congress voters as their wounds from 2017 are not yet healed.
Party leaders must be reminded that ethics are those rules which deal with the values as it concentrates on principles which affect human conduct so as to determine the standard of right and wrong, which leads our way to perform the duties sincerely or carelessly.
Unfortunately, the way some parties are managed in Goa, it looks like they think of their own gains first, rather than that of honest cadres or party workers and the loyal electorate.
These days, nobody seems pure in politics. The best you can do is make the right choice during elections, who you think will save your constituency and Goa at large and then watch their behaviour like a hawk for the next five years.
