Covid deaths: Heads must roll


Apropos to the news report in The Goan ‘HC petitions seek judicial probe into Covid deaths’.

Yes, it's high time those responsible for the large number of deaths not just in Goa, but in the rest of the country, are brought to book. 

For too long, authorities have gone scot free while the people have lost their near & dear ones, either due to lack of oxygen supply or ICU beds or timely medication. 

They were just not prepared with the infrastructure to deal with such a large pandemic. When they had the time to do that, they were busy playing politics, organizing huge religious festivals, holding massive election rallies, horse trading etc. 

Courts all over the country, including the Supreme Court, should take a note of this and ensure that justice is done. Of course, that will not bring the dead back to life but would ensure that those responsible for these deaths learn a bitter lesson. 

They need to understand that every human life is important.

After the recent report of a woman allegedly abducting a male child from hospital has reminded me of a conversation that happened a few years ago.
