The Goa Govt will strongly resist revoking 39A and in my view use all "tricks in the book" to intimidate protestors. I would like to ask government as to why buses carrying peaceful protestors to Azad Maidan were stopped enroute. Another government questionable tactic: On February 24 I was at Azad Maidan late evening at the same time CM Pramod Sawant was meeting with MLA Viresh Borkar (under fast at Azad Maidan) and the CM appeared to show a conciliatory attitude and then, just within 24 hours later on February 25, after a meeting with BJP Legislative MLAs/Ministers, he came out with a intimidating attitude; threatened cases on Siridao peaceful protestors particularly on some missing 10 files at TCP office which are baseless. If the files are really missing, how is the CM Pramod Sawant so sure that it is the protestors and not the Records officer or even a govt servant or Minister/MLA? Is all this not an attempt to intimidate protestors? Goans must strategize carefully how we take this protest going forward and ensure that 39/A is certainly scrapped.
