Recently, religious fanatics attacked Hindu processions on the occasions of Gudi Padwa, Ramnavami and Hanuman Jayanti. Stones were pelted in various places. After the deadly attacks on Hindus, it has come to light that Hindus in the Karauli area of Rajasthan are fleeing like villagers from Kairana in Uttar Pradesh and Mewat in Haryana did. This is a wake-up call for the nation because Hindutva is the backbone of this nation. If Hindus, who are in the majority in a ‘secular’ democracy, are being persecuted for religious reasons, then we have to admit that it is a clear failure of ‘secularism’ as well as democracy.
