India should rethink its stand on Ukraine

India continues to support Russia’s war on Ukraine maintaining its friendship with Russia. Many Indians also support this.

We read news, see graphics of the situation in Ukraine, the thousands of civilians killed -- there is no war against civilians -- thousands of women and children fleeing the war-torn country, the rapes and other atrocities going on and are not moved?

Russia got Ukraine to give up its nuclear arms and then only waged this war.

Of late there is an increase in the gang rapes in India. Can the other friends of these rapists, or even their parents, justify the same merely because they are friends?

The entire gang did not plan the crime ‘all of a sudden’. One main ‘leader’ of the gang must have convinced the others who, though cowards, got the courage to commit the crime. Had any one of the others thought of putting their foot down, the crime might have been avoided.

India being immune to the happenings in Ukraine and not convincing Putin to desist is similar. At least India should refrain from’ profiting’ from the purchase of cheaper oil from Russia.

Many Russians are fleeing their country out of shame and working to save Ukrainians. There is no moral justification for India’s current stand or actions.
