Info campaign on Agnipath needed

The country of late has seen violence in several States over the Centre’s newly launched Agnipath scheme.

Something seems to be amiss in the way the scheme was unveiled. There should have been an information campaign before the scheme was launched.

Before coming out with reforms with far reaching consequences the government should have consulted with all stakeholders and taken them into confidence.

Agnipath is an effort to generate employment, but the lack of proper information has caused the youth to get agitated. Thorough work would have saved government the blushes.

The Armed forces are for disciplined people not for those who burn national assets.

The Army should not recruit hooligans responsible for the violence taking place during the protests against the short-term recruitment plan. These hooligans are not even fit to be security guards.

Let better sense prevail.
