Every Goan knows the land prices from Pernem to Canacona and the rates at which land is available, as per the valuation by chartered engineers. However, it’s hard to believe that in Bicholim, land is priced at Rs 75 lakhs for 1500 sq ft. This seems impossible without someone’s influence, which everyone knows.
This means that Goans are being denied land at fair prices. This high rate may become the standard, and the same trend may spread across Goa. Surprisingly, nobody speaks up about this. That’s why I always say Goa is being sold to non-Goans who have lots of money. Farewell to Goa and Goans! Let’s find a new name for this state that reflects our Indian culture.
