Did the TGE editorial say the Budget 2022 was an optical illusion? You may not be mistaken after all. Well, all proposals made at budget time and promises at election time, seem to be, but optical illusions whether it is the central level or state level. As is evident from past experience, by and large, many proposals and promises remain on paper. It is sad to note however, that when it comes to the crux, the voters choose to get fooled, mesmerised as they are, by the bait dangling before their eyes and by the oratorical skills of our politicians. Needless to say, there are a large number of real issues at hand which need urgent redressal. We cannot continue to look at a mirage and pretend that everything will be fine.
