Oppn parties make a point at Delhi meet

In a bid to safeguard democracy, Opposition parties in India converged at Ram Lila Maidan, Delhi, under the banner of "Loktantra Bachao".

The primary focus was to demonstrate collective resistance against the ruling BJP and the recent arrest of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate on various charges. Notably, AAP and Congress spearheaded the call to uphold democratic values amidst concerns over BJP's governance. The arrest stemmed from investigations into alleged corruption and fund mismanagement within Kejriwal's administration.

With Lok Sabha elections looming, BJP is engaged in campaign activities across Uttar Pradesh and other States while the Opposition aims to consolidate forces to challenge BJP's dominance.

Their grievances extended beyond political arrests, encompassing issues such as unemployment and inflation, alleging BJP's failure to deliver on promises.

While BJP dismissed the Opposition coalition as a union of corrupt elements, they remained the largest single party in recent elections. The need for a robust Opposition is evident, with Congress and AAP attempting to assert their influence. However, the upcoming election outcomes will ultimately reflect the electorate's preference.
