Pandemic has skewed social skills of kids

Isolation due to pandemic is leading to deterioration in social skills of children and a lack of overall development of the child.  Children learn through observation and even a complex language structure that is often alien to family members is quickly learnt by children by observing and associating with other children.  The Covid pandemic has unfathomable impact over people all over the world and the most affected are children. They are hindered in these pandemic times with children glued to homes, and online classes. The voices of children are muted in online classes, with interaction among children being meagre or absent.  The virtual mode of interaction hardly provides a substitute to live interaction.  Communities need to play a vibrant role in engaging children physically and mentally, observing safety measures. The entire education sector is facing new challenges in the pandemic.  Children today spend significantly more time inside in front of screens than they do outside playing. Evidence shows that issues such as obesity, sleeplessness and vision problems are among some of the negative physical health effects of technology on children.
