Provide compensation to homes damaged by lightning strikes

Recently, lightning struck homes in Ribandar, Marcel, and Guridolim. Thankfully, by the grace of God, the family members were unharmed, but the house and its contents were severely damaged and burned, causing significant loss to the homeowner. The lightning strike shattered roof tiles, burned the electrical wiring, damaged equipment, and destroyed trees outside the house.

During thunderstorms, it is important to switch off the main power supply, unplug appliances like the fridge, iron, TV, and mixer, and ensure the earthing system is in good condition. Regular checks and maintenance of electric lines, switches, and junction boxes are essential for personal safety. Replace any damaged switches and electric boards to prevent danger. Avoid going outside during lightning and stay away from electricity poles and transformers, as they can be deadly.

We urge CM Sawant, the Collector’s office, the local MLA, and the village panchayat sarpanch to help and support the affected family. Please expedite the process and provide financial assistance quickly so the family can repair their home before the rainy season. Villagers should also assist the family during this difficult time.
