This is with reference to the report, "Over 100 toilets built in Delhi... but exclusively for transgenders - The Goan Everyday September 12, 2023." Transgenders indeed are a misunderstood section of society and are prone to harassment. Providing toilets exclusively for transgenders is a good initiative considering, as the report says, that they are prone to sexual assault and harrasment. However, the authorities ought to ensure that the toilets, whether exclusively for transgenders or for the general public, whether in Delhi or at other cities like Mumbai, are cleaned and maintained regularly. There is always the risk of infection and health issues. Also, the authorities must provide more washrooms for the general public at more locations in order to curtail urinating in public.
