This refers to 'Aleixo orders babus to simplify process for regularisation of unauthorised houses' (TGE, Dec 23). There is one thing about this so-called regularisation of unauthorised/illegal constructions, whether in Goa, Mumbai or elsewhere in the country. Without getting into debate or controversy, I mean if something is unauthorised or illegal, it has no right to be standing there; it should never have come up in the first place.
By this system of regularisation, we only seem to be encouraging many more such constructions in the hope or likelihood of it getting authorised/legal status someday. Where are we heading? Some food for Thought!
