After India's 'Operation Sindoor' targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan, tensions have escalated between the two countries. Instability has increased in Pakistan's border regions, including Balochistan.
Now, violence has erupted in the Sindh province. Protests against the Sindhu Canal Project and corporate farming in Pakistan have turned violent. During demonstrations in Moro Taluka of Naushahro Feroze district, protestors set fire to the house of Sindh province's Home Minister, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar.
According to local media reports, two protestors were killed in police firing, and several others, including three police officers, were injured. This violence broke out amid protests against canal and corporate farming projects.
Police prevented protestors from staging a sit-in on the national highway, which led to outrage. In response, protestors looted fuel and set three vehicles, including trucks and tankers, on fire.
In a viral video, protestors can be seen climbing onto a truck and throwing down sacks of urea fertilizer, which people on motorcycles are seen collecting. Reports also suggest that protestors stormed petrol pump offices and looted them.
All in all, the waters of the Sindhu have ignited flames in Pakistan.
