Alongwiith the political storm going on in Goa, it seems like the weather Gods are not to be left far behind. Thunderstorms have suddenly struck Goa, with lightning having damaged the electric substation at Amona with fire. Well, what are we looking at, isn't this an indication of more bad times to come?
Let us all understand that climate change is for real. People in Goa may well weather the political storm in the state in the coming months but what about the storms whipped up by Nature? We can fool ourselves but we cannot fool Nature.
We need to wake up to the environmental damage all around us. The authorities on their part, need to rethink their policies with regard to infrastructure development, not just in Goa but in the rest of the country as well. Nature has been sending us repeated warning signs. Are we listening?
