A parliamentary committee has recommended that the medium of instruction in higher technical and non-technical institutes such as IIT/IIM must be in Hindi for Hindi States and in local languages for others.
Teaching staff to be employed in the Goa IIT will know Hindi and Marathi but not Konkani. So what will be the medium of instruction here?
Will students be able to cope with Konkani? This will reduce the quality of education and is a back door entry for people from Hindi speaking belt to capture all seats and hence jobs.
Entrance exams for the non-teaching staff will have the English paper replaced by a Hindi paper; so what jobs will Goans get in the IIT?
Will the Pramod Sawant-led government fight for locals or tow the central line? This was why the 2022 elections were crucial but selfish interests queered the pitch bringing in TMC and RGP.
