Addressing traffic chaos: A call for action in Margao

The Borda Road and the area around Gogol Circle are in a state of chaos due to illegal parking of vehicles, causing significant inconvenience and traffic congestion. Motorists irresponsibly double-park their vehicles opposite the Multipurpose School, leading to major jams on Borda Road. Unfortunately, the Goa Police are seldom seen taking action against wrongly parked vehicles.

Similarly, vehicles parked outside Krishna Hotel and Goa Forward office block the bypass, impeding traffic flow, yet the Goa Police remain conspicuously absent to address the issue. Furthermore, the installation of traffic signals, speed breakers, and rumblers has proven ineffective, as many motorists disregard them, posing risks to law-abiding drivers. The absence of police enforcement exacerbates the problem.

Additionally, numerous vehicles are observed driving on the wrong side of the road across Goa, even in the presence of uniformed police officers who fail to intervene. Despite repeated complaints to the South Goa Traffic Police and SP Traffic, no action has been taken, leading to loss of lives and turning Goan roads into death traps. It is imperative that authorities take immediate action to address these issues and ensure the safety and efficiency of our roads. We must work together to find solutions rather than assigning blame.
