Ban on cell phone while teaching commendable

Mobiles have been seen in the hands of many secondary school children while in school . This obsession or addiction of mobile phones seems to be increasing day by day. Now this has reached the teachers also . As soon as the teacher goes to the classroom, mobile rings and then the teaching link is broken. Now Kolhapur Secondary Education Officer Dr Eknath Ambokar has issued an order banning teachers and principals from carrying and using mobile phones in the classroom.  At other times, all the teachers have to deposit the mobile phones in the principal's room. The education officer has also ensured the implementation of the order in all secondary schools in the district which is commendable.

The present drive against drunken driving  will lose steam in a couple of weeks. Another big accident and the police  exercise will be repeated. We can't blame the police for this malaise.
