Budget has nothing for pensioners

Prime Minister Modi has recently stated at the BJP Parliamentary party meeting  for the Union budget 2023-24,  that "the  Budget has something for all sections of society". Unfortunately, this is not the case with pensioners under the Employment Pension scheme (EPS,95) who have been subsisting on a measly pension of Rs 1000/month since the past 7-8 years.  Prior to the budget , pensioners under the EPFO and EPS pension schemes were assured of receiving a minimum pension of Rs 3000/month after the Union budget. Nothing of this has happened so far and there is nothing to indicate any change till date.  It is therefore hoped that the govt has not forgotten its pre-budget assurances, and hastens to  implement the minimum pension scheme  of Rs 3000/month without further delay, to help pensioners survive the mounting costs of living.
