Since Goa is a preferred tourist destination for international tourists an airport which could handle an aircraft as big as the Dreamliner was absolutely necessary. With the inauguration of the ‘Manohar International Airport’ at Mopa this aspiration has been fulfilled. High spending tourists will now proceed to Goa in droves which will come as a big boost for the tourism sector in the state. It must be said that the Dabolim International Airport is centrally located and it was easier for the flight passengers to reach the major cities of Goa from the airport by road and vice-versa. The ‘Manohar International Airport’ is located in Pernem taluka close to the border with Maharashtra. Hence air travellers will have to pay a lot to reach the various cities from the airport by taxi. It would be in the fitness of things to introduce air-conditioned KTC bus service to drop the air passengers from the Mopa airport free of cost to Panaji and Margao. These buses can also collect air passengers going to the Mopa International Airport from these two cities.
