I live on a tiny residential lane in the Bay View area of Dona Paula.
Of late there is a huge construction consisting of 8 floors is coming up in a small plot of 450 sq mts. It appears the zoning and approvals of this plot has been attained fraudulently or without due diligence from the authorities.
The building is without proper parking facilities and has no proper approach road. Perusal of plans available in the NGPDA file shows that the width of this road where this construction is going on is shown to be 10 metres on record, whereas the existing road in reality is approximately just 4 to 5 metres wide.
Vehicular traffic is getting congested in the area apart from issues like water and electricity. Yet the administration thinks it can handle the demands of a whole building of additional people.
Several complaints from residents have been lodged but there has been no fruitful response from any department.
I appeal to our new Governor Sreedharan Pillai having long experience at Mizoram and Kerala to direct concerned authorities to have a look into this matter and to take suitable action.
