Concerns over incomplete cabling, damaged water pipeline in Siolim

Concerns over incomplete cabling, damaged water pipeline in Siolim

The Electricity Department has left the underground cabling job incomplete due to the monsoon deadline, resulting in an exposed board and pothole on the road. Meanwhile, the PWD’s main water pipeline has been damaged for days and remains unattended, leading to thousands of litres of treated water being wasted in Marna-Siolim near the Ayan Villas building.

If there were a current leakage through the water pipeline, which is a good conductor of electricity, consumers could be at risk of electric shock, potentially leading to serious injury or even death.

Who will be held accountable for such a mishap remains to be seen? Until then, we can only hope and pray that no incidents occur in Siolim due to this poor planning by the authorities.
