Conmen cheating doctors by posing as armymen

Last week a lady pathologist was cheated by a conman who allegedly impersonated an army officer. Over calls he enquired the cost of blood tests for his staff who were stationed in a college in Fatorda and convinced her to transfer Rs 60,100 in 3 installments through GPay to his bank account. A few months back a lady dentist was cheated of a larger amount on the assurance that she will be sent patients from the army for dental check-ups. It is amazing as to how the good doctors believed without any proof that the con men to be from the armed forces! They should have asked themselves: why should the army staff consult private doctors when the defence forces have the best and free medical facilities? Despite alerts from banks and police, people still fall prey to cyber frauds and lose their money. Everyday there might be tens of cases of cyber frauds but only a few get reported as the sum involved may be small or people do not want to be embarrassed or avoid the cyber cells due to hassles.
