Sometime ago, l received a message from my bank that my account needed to be KYC compliant or else it would be frozen. I was sure that my account was active and updated but because of the message I visited the bank and waited for 10 minutes for my turn. On checking my account the official confirmed that it was KYC compliant. She said this message was sent to everyone and that l should ignore it. Last week, l received a similar message from UIDAI that my Aadhaar card needed to be updated by producing proof of address and identification. After l visited the Aadhaar Centre with the documents l was told that my Aadhaar card was updated and to ignore the message since it was sent to everybody. For the sake of a few people whose accounts or cards are not updated, all are called at the bank or Centre. The employees working for these service providers should be concerned about the convenience of the people rather than their own. They should live up to their slogans " we serve the people", "customer satisfaction is our motto" and so on.
