Proposal for Rs 350 cr flyover versus Rs50 cr bypass is a scam

The proposal for a bypass was studied, surveyed but not considered till date despite representations.

The excuse of further delay is unjustified .The notification isn't announced beyond Uskiniband  for NH66 expansion. The land acquired in 1988  at Rs13 per sq metre and Rs800 for construction is a pittance. That 30 metres of  land is available is an excuse as two lanes are completed since 1988. The squeezing of 4 lanes  against the norm of 45m is in violation of standard guidelines only on this stretch  and is to favour the builder of flyover which is a scam. Bypass provides ample scope for expansion, no destruction of residential houses, expenditure on tree cutting, destroying environment and laying afresh water, internet/phone lines, shifting of transformers poles of  electricity. Besides designing of two major junctions without facility for service roads within 30 m is a myth. The flyover of 25m will hardly leave a gap of 2.5 m from existing acquisition. The insensitive National Highways Authority is hell bent on destroying residences and causing displacement for a second time.
