The Anjuna panchayat under orders of the High Court to act on CRZ violations has via a public notice, asked owners of about 175 structures to produce their construction license/permissions within 5 days or face action.
While the above could be positive step (despite justice being delayed) I would like to point out that similar cases have been registered by NGOs/Individuals from Colva but for some reasons these CRZ and NDZ (No Development Zone) violations have not been pulled up by those in authority.
One can just drive around the Colva coastal belt and see these massive violations. It would be prudent if the High Court steps in and directs the Colva panchayat to do the same as in Anjuna ie. to send notices to owners of structures violating the CRZ/NDZ rules and ask them to produce their construction license/permissions within a week or face action.
Hope better sense prevails.
