The PM of our country when abroad goes to great lengths in extolling the virtues of Mahatma Gandhi, the apostle of peace and non-violence to gain validation from foreign governments. At home his party members, most recently an ex-CM and a Central minister sing paens to Nathuram Godse and call him a 'sapoot' (good son) of India.
This of course keeps their home constituency happy. The sheer hypocrisy of the saffron dispensation is mindboggling, first they resurrect and glorify apologist Savarkar as a 'freedom fighter', (why he even has a portrait in Parliament now) and as things stand Godse jee shall also be worshipped as a nation builder soon.
The silence of the PM and the whole Cabinet in condemning such moves make them complicit in the whole scheme of things. RSS functionaries of the past like Golwalkar, Hedgewar, Dattatray etc. who had absolutely nothing to do with the freedom movement are being falsely portrayed as great nationalists while Nehru and Gandhi are being erased from the history books. Welcome to New India, New (false) heroes.
