Deal with stray dog menace

Stray dog menace has become rampant at different locations in the state. It turns dangerous for precious human lives. In case the dog attacking any person happens to suffer from rabies, the concerned victim is likely to lose his life. The concerned authorities do not seem to tackle this matter with the seriousness it deserves. Recently a two-wheeler rider lost his precious life along the Shantinagar road in Ponda due to a stray dog running across the road during night time. It is absolutely necessary for the competent authorities to deal firmly with this growing menace so that safety is assured for public on a permanent basis. Seen in the picture are stray dogs occupying the pavement at Tisk in Ponda. Many commuters wait at this spot in order to board buses for proceeding to the adjoining villages like Queula, Ramnathi, Undir, Adpai, Durbhat and Agapur. Presence of stray dogs turn risky to their precious lives. Let us hope that the authorities would initiate prompt positive action in this sensitive matter and try its level best to restrict the growing stray dog menace before the situation turns from bad to worse. No doubt, precious human lives must be assured safety at all costs.
