As seen with two recent fatalities”1) paragliding at Keri, and 2) the death at Arambol, where a local was attacked by shack staff”the Goa government only reacts after lives are lost. Despite numerous complaints made earlier by concerned citizens and activists, the administration has remained unresponsive, almost as if in a deep sleep.
Now, the Tourism Minister is claiming that corrective action will be taken. But why was no action taken earlier? Frankly, I have very little hope that the incompetent and corrupt Goa government will address these issues seriously, even after such tragic events.
