Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is promoting Dharbandora as a hinterland tourist spot. He has said 10 lakh tourists will change the economy of the entire taluka. However, what about pollution? Where are the STPs for 10 lakh tourists? North Goa is a cesspool of sewage most of the all groundwater contaminated beyond redemption. Still, we do not learn. At the same time, another minister says Goa’s tourism must be at par with the rest of the world. True, but where are the STPs in coastal areas? Are our health services at par with the rest of the world? How many deaths from Covid in Goa and how many in Singapore? Are our roads, water and electricity of international standards? And all our prospective MLAs in waiting, not to forget the ‘mature’ ones, are silent. Why? Because all of them are in the race only to be in the ruling party.
