BJP which once claimed to be a party with a difference, now after having opted for Babush Monserrate for the Panaji seat despite his gory criminal antecedents, is trying to push the buck on late Manohar Parrikar.
This attempt to misguide people is in sheer bad taste, that too while Manohar Parrikar is not around to defend himself.
In 2002 when Manohar Parrikar inducted Babush Monserrate in the cabinet he was not charged of raping that minor girl whom he did in 2016. The ghastly attack on Panaji Police station, a crime against the State was also orchestrated by Babush Monserrate in 2008.
In fact Parrikar in 2005 stripped Babush Monserrate of TCP portfolio due to the gross corruption on account of which he lost the CM’s chair.
It may be recalled that in 2019 Pramod Sawant roared that people should not vote for criminal like Monserrate as he had committed every possible crime and that ladies would not be safe with him around.
There must be sanity in today’s political turf, it can longer be about money and muscle power governed by ill-gotten wealth.
