Don’t waste money of taxpayers

It was certainly good news to hear that the Supreme Court upheld the High Court’s order restraining the Goa government from proceeding with constructions in North Goa ODP areas. 

However, it is shocking to learn that the Pramod Sawant-led government is spending lakhs of rupees per hearing on legal fees to fight these “destructive” cases.

Activists challenging the Goa government in court are struggling with limited resources, fighting against the odds, while Goa’s ministers continue to waste taxpayers’ money to push projects that serve their personal, family, and political ambitions.

The judiciary should consider penalizing the personal assets of the responsible panchas, bureaucrats, and politicians wherever clear signs of mischief or fraud are evident.
