A Goan car driver travelling from Porvorim to Saligao was seen brutally assaulted (the shocking incident of which was captured live and the video of which had gone viral on social media) in the middle of the road at Sangolda with helmets and fists by two rent-a-bike tourists after his four wheeler vehicle slightly collided with a Fascino scooter of one of the tourist.
Shockingly, most Goans who were travelling the same road at the time of the incident were seen doing nothing to save their fellow Goan but stopping & silently watching the fun like mute spectators.
Of course, the Saligao police apprehended the two tourists from Maharashtra, an FIR has been registered and both the accused have been placed under arrest.
The reason why domestic tourists of late are seen coming like guests in the State and daringly carrying such violent attacks against Goans in different parts of the State that's because they have studied all our weaknesses in Goa. They know that most Goans are culturally/habitually lazy, who have absolutely no unity amongst themselves.
I think that as long as Goans do not discard our old habits and continue living with 'mhaka kiteak podlam' attitude, we will continue to witness many more such unfortunate incidents.
