One of the laudable schemes of the State Government is to extend financial assistance to deserving students. Over the past two years SC, OBC, ST, EBC students have painstakingly adhered to the completion of rigorous formalities and processes involved to avail this assistance. The application forms are verified by the schools through Mamlatdars and BDOs. The students are yet to receive these meagre amounts, which, of course, could meet their educational requirements. Needless to say, the Government splurges large sums on less-priority schemes, thus denying these students the much-needed financial aid. The Education Minister must inquire into this unwarranted delay in disbursing this assistance. Poor students and parents cannot agitate or protest publicly. The schools concerned would do better to help these students get financial aid for their education.
