The Central government has lowered the petrol price by Rs 5 and diesel Rs 10. The BJP ruled States also promptly lowered local taxes on fuel as Diwali gift! This comes from results of bypolls and heartless increases of fuel prices which not only made transport prohibitive for the common man, but sky-rocketted all prices that not only affected the health of people, flora and fauna due essential commodities out of reach, but drove the middle class to poverty and despair. In Goa, people burned an effigy of “Mhargaisur” and reported interview of commuters all over India lambasted the ruling party for adhoc increases and no cap on this vital commodity. I may also be permitted to state that appeasement of Hindus is so blatant and obvious, especially in UP and Northern States that the oft repeated slogan appeasement of none falls flat. There is a crying need for more democracy and humanity.
