Fulfill promise on road repairs

With reference to the recent agitation launched by the Congress pertaining to pothole ridden roads, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has stated that Goan roads would be pothole-free on November 1. With roads in the State existing in a rather pitiful condition since quite long, precious human lives have been confronted with great risk and danger. Many two-wheeler riders have faced adverse consequences by collapsing to the ground while proceeding along the potholed sections. Although the government is of the people, by the people and for the people, still timely repairs in this regard remained almost neglected and travellers faced great sufferings. Let us hope that the Chief Minister keeps up his promise and assure pothole-free roads to innocent travellers on priority basis. It is very much essential that good quality material is utilised for the said repairs, backed with proper supervision by the PWD officials so that quality of work is maintained. It is the need of the hour that precious human lives are assured safety on a permanent basis.
