One of the more serious threats facing Goa today is the mass exodus of Goans out of Goa. Major reasons include lack of employment opportunities; excessive corruption; degrading standards of cleanliness/hygiene; poor supply of basic utilities (eg. water scarcity in many areas) and generally poor governance. And will all this out-migration Goa is losing its most valuable resource i.e. human capital! Not to mention this can lead to the gradual demise of Goa, its local population and identity as we know it. This has been constantly pointed out in the media and recently this issue was also discussed in the Goa Assembly. In fact I will be so candid as to say that this out-migration is mainly due to the corrupt and poor governance of Goan politicians. I appeal to all Goans to see the facts for themselves and see that this out-migration is affecting Goa big time... the best time to address this was much earlier but the next best time is now! The politicians are too busy distracting us and dividing us so that they can be allowed to continue with their corrupt/destructive activities for the benefit of themselves and their families.
