It is learnt that Morjim-Ashwem coastal belt has witnessed laying of 5,200 Olive Ridley turtle eggs during the season from December to February. It's also quite encouraging to know that the State government has taken the conservation process seriously. Definitely, more needs to be done to increase the rate of turtle nesting. Since the said coastal belt is considered as a silent zone, no loud music should be played in the nearby areas too. It's nice that the shack operators are instrumental in their assistance as far as the conservation process is concerned. As mentioned in certain media outlets a centre too will be set up wherein the students will study the conservation process which is also a fantastic move. Such type of acts pertaining to nature can definitely give a boost to tourism. It can send a message that Goa tourism is not just about 'alcohol', but also nature oriented.
