The dastardly rape and murder of a five-year-old girl is something that cannot be accepted by any human being. My heartfelt sympathies go to the parents and family members. The parents have lost a dear, young, bubbly girl. What do such incidents show? These incidents of attack and murder of girls and women have been repeatedly taking place in all parts of our country.
While the central government has been showing that the ED, CBI, and Income Tax are doing their bit at the back and calling their bosses, while the police teams are usually lying low in morale and effectiveness. The citizens need to play the role of responsibility.
Has the contractor registered these workers by filling the police form? This will be under study. Will our government ensure protection and rise to defend the 'Nari Shakti' or mere lip service and slogan shouting create any patriotism or nationalism in our people?
'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' has fallen on deaf ears of these murderers. We have lost the humane moral we treat others, nothing less than animals. Goa being a tourist destination state, our police team should be high on alert, but unfortunately, our politicians demoralise the police when investigation should be given a free hand.
It's peak time for elections and some will speak on it while the ruling government will open their chest wide to say don't politicise the issue. But finally, nothing seems to improve even after the election is over. You will be assured all types of protection but nothing has happened; the public will have to defend on its own. God save Goa and our Nari Shakti.
