Under the Portuguese civil code, the registration of births and deaths had been a perfect draft. I happened to get the death certificate of one lady who died in 1964 at Asilo Hospital, Mapuca which was not available for the last 5-6 years.
Incidentally, one staff from GEL helped me with regards to this death certificate and within 30 minutes the certificate was in my mail. Thanks to the staff and also the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for this excellent initiative. The certificate is elaborate and gives all details including transportation of the body to her native place. It's in Portugese but I was able to read it. Thanks to the Goa government for digital availability of these records.
