We are seeing that the roads in Goa are being hot mixed now at top speed because Assembly elections are round the corner. Similar things happen when any top dignitary like the Prime Minister or President visits a State. The question that arises here is : how is this possible at such times while in normal times the roads are left in a horrible condition despite several complaints and requests of the public? The answer is simple and clear. The government in power is keen to retain power so a solution has been found. During the visit of dignitaries, it works to impress the dignitaries that it is doing a wonderful job. Politicians really care about their own welfare rather than that of the people as it should be when we say government of the people, for the people. Hope the new government in Goa does show some concern and respect for the people who elect them to power.
