Unfortunate as it is, the recent incident at Hounslow, involving members of our Goan community has come to light, thereby damaging an already battered image of Goa and Goans beyond our shores.
It is shameful to think that Goa, being home to many eminent personalities, ideas and discoveries, who have carried her name
throughout the ages and have put her on the world map, are being laid waste by a handful of individuals who have taken their filth from their old country to the new one.
Our people sadly have never known the meaning of unity and oneness
and still wallow in the pit of jealousy, hatred, false pride and clannishness.
Instead of upholding a sense of community and oneness like many others do, the same attitudes and mentalities drag on like a ball and chain, and further tarnish the image of our Goan community.
Why should honest, hard-working, God-fearing and law-abiding Goans, regardless of their nationality or citizenship the world over pay a price over the actions of a few?
Those responsible must face the full might of the law and deportation from the lands they have chosen to make home. It is time that we Goans stand up and call a spade a spade and denounce this deplorable behavior.
