Now the new trend of defection is development. The word is used by every MLA to defend his shift from one party to another. The law of defection and anti-defection is diplomatically replaced as development. Before the elections all the MLA have agenda to develop their constituencies and no MLA can sit in opposition after winning the election. Every political party has agenda and it is clear that defection is for self development and not for public development. If one wants to develop the State it can be done being in opposition too. Late Manohar Parrikar was in opposition till BJP came to power but always raised issues of development. The current situation of the State is that there is no development despite the ruling party in State and Centre being same. The clear examples are Ponda KTC bus stand and Vasco KTC bus stand which are crying for attention and renovation. Hope the development takes place in public and voter's interest and not at individual level.
