In solidarity with Goan activists

Activist Rama Kankonkar, after being summoned to the Panaji Police Station on Thursday and kept there for nearly half a day for questioning, was finally arrested (of course, at the behest of the ruling BJP government) on Friday evening for allegedly making a statement against CM Pramod Sawant while reacting to a recent incident in Sancoale panchayat.

Well, it looks like the government is hell-bent on silencing the voices of all such Goan activists by harassing and arresting them on some flimsy charges in Goa. If the reason why the government has swiftly arrested Rama Kankonkar on flimsy charges is that he, along with his other activist friends, has been daringly raising a number of questions from different platforms over a variety of issues so frequently and putting the government in an embarrassing situation in Goa, then that speaks volumes.

I think the government should dare to arrest all the real criminals instead of wasting its time harassing gutsy, daring ‘aam-Goenkars’ like Rama Kankonkar on flimsy reasons. I still stand by Rama Kankonkar and all the other Goan activists in Goa.

Miscreants might plant an explosive device in these discarded vehicles and engineer a blast remotely. Besides they take up valuable space which could be productively used for parking. Would the authorities look into the matter and dispose off such scrap.
